The 2007 Children’s Gasparilla Parade was taken over by super models.
The models that joined the Krewe of Les Belles Femmes are not from New York or Los Angeles. They are from right here in Tampa Bay and they are modeling much more than fashion.
We were able to treat several young girls who are battling childhood cancer the opportunity to participate in the parade.
The Children’s Gasparilla Parade was the official premier for the models of Fashion Funds the Cure – a fashion show and fundraiser that is held annually at Saks Fifth Avenue to benefit the Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
Fashion Funds the Cure is a full runway fashion show that features up to 20 young women, ages six to 18 years old that are or have battled cancer. The girls take the stage illustrating that courage, perseverance and spirit are their most precious accessories.
In celebration of these beautiful girls, Les Belles Femmes helped adorn them and their mothers in full costume to make their modeling debut during the Children’s Gasparilla pre-parade luncheon will be held by the Krewe in honor of these girls. Les Belles Femmes gave each girl and mom the full Gasparilla treatment with a makeover, costuming and, of course, beads.
Experience the pure beauty and unparalleled strength of these girls as they take on cancer, the parade and the runway while inspiring everyone around them.
